Bahram 3. Becomes King

Bahram III CoinBahram 3 known as Sakanshah (King of Sistan) became the new Sassanid king after his father.'s death on Sep, 9, 293. He was the only son of Bahram 2. and he had been appointed governor of Sekestan as Crown Prince around 280 A.D.
His reign lasted for only 4 months challenged by his uncle Narsi (293-301) , the son of Shapour I. Considered too weak for the throne, In a revolt, Bahram 3. was killed by his uncle Narsi.
Narsi was defeated by Roman Galerius and in a treaty made in 298; five regions in Armenia were given to Romans. That treaty lasted for only four years. (Updated: Aug, 21, 2010)
