Hormazd I Becomes King

After Shapour I, his son Hormazd I (272-273) whose throne name was Ardeshir 2 becomes king but his kingdom lasted only one year. Some accounts indicate that his reign started on Jan, 29, 271. Hormazd suffered from physical illness and was not able rule the country well, specially compared to his father who added lost territories in Anatolia back to empire and took Valerine, the Roman empire as a prisoner of war.
