Under international pressure and fear of being assassinated or delivered to Iran for trial, the Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah finds a resort in a far away island in Panama. Because of massive street demonstrations and constant public pressure Shah had fled from Iran like he had done 26 years before in hopes of another coup to put him back in power. But when he was allowed to the U.S. a hostage crisis began with seizure of the American embassy same year. He soon became one of the most unwanted people in the world with nowhere to go. His last trip was to Egypt where he died of cancer reportedly. Iran's diplomatic relations with the U.S. and Egypt became suspended ever since.
