Partha-Nisa

نسا ، ارتا نیسا

The city of Nesa or Partha-Nesa is the oldest known residence of Parthians which used to be near modern Ashkabad city of Turkmenistan.
Nesa consisted of two parts:
The northern Nesa or the new Nesa was residential, while the southern or old Nesa was commercial. The latter was surrounded by city walls known as Mehrdad Kert and it was constructed during Mehrdad 1. reign.
