Kazemein is a town located in what is now a northern neighbourhood of
Baghdad,
Iraq about five kilometres from the city center.
Kazemein is regarded as a holy city in
Shia faith. It received its name for the two Shia
Imams buried there:
Imam Musa Kazem and his grandson and successor Imam Muhammad at-Taghi. A shrine was first built over their tombs, and subsequently the al-Kazemein Mosque.
