(Wikipedia) - The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting College is a public film school in Tehran, Iran. It is affiliated to Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and also has campuses in Qom and Dubai. The school has produced some of Iran's finest directors including Bahman Ghobadi and Jafar Panahi. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting College (Persian: دانشکده صدا و سیما‎) is a public school in Tehran, Iran. It is affiliated to Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and also has campuses in Qom and Dubai.

History

The institute began with a one-year short course.

Later this developed into a two-year program. Afterwards master's degrees in educational technology, research in mass communication and electrical engineering were also made available.

The first name of the instiution was the Technical Training Center, which was later changed to IRIB College. In 1982 diploma's in production were promoted to bachelor's degrees and in 1995 and 1996 degree's in technical engineering and film production were added. In 1997 a communications degree was created to join together academic disciplines.

IRIB also established a broadcasting school in Qom in 1997 which teaches up to degree level.

The college library has more than 30,000 written, audio and visual media sources .
